The Surah of the Eschatological Call

Qur'ān 12:48.

بسم اللّه الرّحمن الرّحيم

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate.

"Then thereafter there shall come upon you seven hard years, that shall devour what you have laid up for them, all but a little you keep in store" (Q. 12:48. Trans. Arberry).

 O thou believers!

Supplicate ye the martyrs (`witnesses'; shuhadā') among thy brethren for the vestiges of death (āthār al-mawt) shall surely find thee within thine own selves. Testify ye before God and before His creatures! through the testimony of faith (bi-shahādat Allāh)  regarding His Oneness.  And judge ye aright between thy

O thou believers!

Marry not the unbelievers until they come to faith. And if thou art astonished at their beauty (ḥusn)  then know that God hath assuredly promised you supremely greater (a`zam) than these [females] in Paradise.  [x]  So pray ye earnestly for the greatest Riḍwān of God. And God is He Who is Exalted, Mighty.

Do not have intercourse with women during their menstruation or the period [immediately] after childbirth
