al-Aḥsā’ī - Risala al-Qaṭīfīyya- Q. on al-Buraq

The responce of Shaykh Ahmad al-Aḥsā’ī in his Risala al-Qaṭīfīyya to a question about Al-Burāq  البُراق‎ ( JK 1 Pt.ii 129).

Translation Stephen Lambden.

Q. [Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Sāliḥ ibn Tūq al-Qaṭīfī]

" He stated, may God, exalted be He, salute him, `What is the meaning of al-Burāq relative to the meaning of the weight of divine inspiration (thaql al-wahy) and the blessed she-camel (al-naqat) [of Salih]?

A. [Shaykh Aḥmad  ibn Zaynh al-Din al-Ahsa'i].

"Know thou that al-Burāq signifies the steed [horse] amongst living things (al-faras al-hayman) and the very apex [midmost part, named] (hayzum) of the steed amongst living things.
