Prominent [crypto-]Shaykhis, Usulis of the Thiqat al-Islam Branch.
The title Thiqat al-Islam, was a mark of honor idicating one especially learned and reliable of the Islamic community, being applied to prominent Shi`i Muslims and others from medieval times, e.g. to Muḥammad ibn Yaʻqūb al-Kulaynī.
Hajji Mirza Shafi, Thiqat al-Islam (d.1301/1884), an important disciple of al-Ahsa'i.
Shaykh Musa, Thiqat al-Islam (d. 1319/1901), son the the above Hajji Mirza Shafi.
Mirza `Ali, Thiqat al-Islam Tabrizi (d. 1912),
He was changed by the Russians for "for resisting the occupation of Tabriz" (Momen, Shi`i Islam, 1985:230).
